Emphasis on fundamentals and fun is the heart of the beginner dune hang gliding lesson where you will have five solo flights off the dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks. The soft sand and smooth winds that brought the Wright Brothers here makes this the ideal location for learning how to hang glide. SEASONAL: USUALLY MID JUNE THROUGH MID AUGUST.The Kid's Lesson is for children who weigh less than 85 pounds. It is the same as the Beginner Lesson and emphasizes fundamentals. In the Kid's Lesson we have two instructors running with and guiding the student and glider down the dune on every flight. In this hang gliding lesson you will have five solo flights off the dunes of Jockey’s Ridge State Park. It is an ideal location for learning how to hang glide.
