Kitty Hawk Kites (KHK) Kiteboarding School is dedicated to providing the most professional kiteboarding instruction available for students of all levels. We have been teaching kiteboarding since the conception of the sport. It is our instructors that make the difference. We take a personal interest in each and every student and work hard to go beyond your expectations! Our kite surfing school is PASA (Professional Air Sports Association) approved. PASA has created methods of teaching that have become industry standards for providing quality instruction. Our incredible Power Kite Course is a 3 hour intensive and fun introduction into Power Kiting! This course will cover learning to fly a incredible power kite! This is also our introductory class for learning to kiteboard. Learn how to harness the kite’s power while simulating board exercises, such as the waterstart. Course covers rigging, tuning, line management, launching and landing, all safety systems, rider responsibility, harness use, simulated board starts, and varying the kite’s “power stroke” to alter the kites power. After taking our Power Kite Course, sign up for your First Water Lesson! Take your foundation skills of kite control and combine them with board balance on the water. We will start with exciting body surfing exercises. Learn to get comfortable with the larger more powerful kites for kiteboarding and learn to travel across the wind like a sailboat. Execute water relaunching of the kite and the proper techniques to perform your first exciting starts on the kiteboard. Self rescue and exits will be practiced. Our private kiteboarding lessons are tailored and customized to fit your goals and skill level. Private kiteboarding lessons are a great option after your First Water Lesson or for those looking for a one-on-one custom lesson experience. Common kiteboarding skills taught include: Riding Upwind, Jumping, and all Tricks. 12 Hours
Fast Track Kiteboarding Camps are weekend camps scheduled over Saturday and Sunday with Monday as an alternate weather date. The class is 9-4 each day and will take you from a total newbie to mastering the fundamentals of kiteboarding! Self sufficiency is our goal coupled with safety and fun!
